Ordering from Amazon abroad.

In short: In the EU stores – France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and more – you order almost as at home, without duty, often with delivery to your country. From the UK and the US, import VAT, duty and possibly an exchange fee come on top.

Which Amazon stores deliver to you

The EU stores deliver many items across the EU – but not all: some sellers only ship within their own country. The product page shows it once your address is set – or the van in the panel: green delivers, red does not.

Signing in and paying

You sign in to the store and enter your delivery address. In the euro stores you pay in euro. For pounds or dollars Amazon converts if you want and charges a fee for it – 1.75% at the checkouts checked.

Shipping and Prime

Amazon shows shipping costs for your address. Prime belongs to one store: a membership on amazon.de brings no Prime prices in Italy, and free Prime delivery only goes to that store’s own countries.

Duty: EU no, UK and US yes

There is no duty within the EU. If a parcel comes from the UK or the US, you pay import VAT and usually duty – up to €150 value, as a rule a flat €3 per kind of goods since July 2026; goods of UK origin can be duty-free.

The calculation in detail

Check the variant

Same name does not mean same goods: in the UK devices have another plug, keyboards another layout, packaging and manual another language. The panel marks different variants “VAR” and never counts them as the best price.

Returns and guarantee

Goods go back to the store you ordered from – the conditions are there. In the EU the legal guarantee lasts at least two years.

Quick questions.

Is Amazon cheaper in France or Italy?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no – it differs by item and day by day. That is why comparing pays off on every purchase, not once in general.

Do I need French or Italian?

Helpful, but not needed: the steps are built the same in every store. The panel shows prices and notes in your language.
