Price error? Check first.
In short: A price error is an accidentally wrong, usually far too low price. Before you jump: check variant, seller, shipping and conditions – and expect the seller may cancel.
How to recognise a price error
The price is far below what the same product costs everywhere else – not just below the RRP. Often it belongs to a smaller variant, an accessory or a typo in the price.
Five checks
- Same variant? Compare the barcode number – the smaller storage size has another one.
- Reputable seller? The shop itself or a marketplace seller, contact details, ratings.
- Total with shipping.
- Conditions: code only, new customers only, from a quantity only?
- Fresh? Price errors are often gone within minutes.
Does the purchase stand?
Not always. On Amazon, according to Amazon’s terms, the contract is only made when the item ships – the order confirmation alone is not an acceptance. With obvious mistakes sellers can usually contest a contract. So only order what you really want at that price, and do not count on reselling.
