Website and preview

This website presents BANGER.deals and contains an interactive demonstration with example offers. The demonstration runs entirely in your browser: it does not access other websites you visit and does not run real product comparisons. No account is required. Entries in the local deal preview are not transmitted to us.

This policy describes processing when you visit this website. A separate privacy policy for the Chrome extension will be provided before its public release.

Hosting and technical access data

We use Firebase Hosting to deliver and protect this website. The provider is Google Cloud EMEA Limited, Velasco, Clanwilliam Place, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Google”). Google processes the data on our behalf as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR) under the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms. When you visit, technical connection data is processed, in particular your IP address, the time and target of the request, and technical information sent by your browser (such as browser type and language).

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the reliable provision and protection of the website.

According to Google, Firebase Hosting uses the IP addresses of incoming requests to detect abuse and to provide hosting usage analysis, and retains this IP data for a few months. We do not create any access logs or analyses of our own beyond this.

Google processes data on global infrastructure; processing outside the EU, in particular in the USA, is possible. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists (Art. 45 GDPR); where it does not apply, the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses apply (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). Storage in your browser

The website sets no cookies. It does keep functional data in your browser’s storage (localStorage and sessionStorage). The website does not transmit this data to us and does not use it to track you across other websites:

Your choice between light and dark display, once you change it.
The display form of the demonstration (narrow window) and the settings you choose in the demonstration, such as country, language, display and panel width.
In the deal preview: your votes, deal drafts and saved search requests, plus a one-time notice after keeping a draft. Deal drafts and saved search requests are each limited to 20 entries.
A marker that the “Preview before release” notice has already been shown in this tab, so it does not reappear on every page. It contains no identifier and no timestamp.

Data in sessionStorage is deleted when you close the tab. Data in localStorage remains until you change it or clear the website data in your browser; there is no fixed automatic deletion period. You can delete this data at any time in your browser settings.

The legal basis for storing and reading this data is § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, as it is strictly necessary for the function you requested. Where this data relates to a person, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is providing the chosen function.

Analytics and advertising services

This website does not use analytics or advertising services such as Google Analytics, Google Ads or Meta Pixel. We do not measure your interactions. Fonts, images and the demonstration are delivered via this website’s hosting; no content is loaded from other servers.

Links to other websites

The website contains links to other providers, such as retailers in the deal preview. Only when you follow such a link do you reach the provider’s website; its privacy policy applies there.

Contact by email

If you send us an email, we process your sender address, the content of the message and any other details you provide in order to handle your request. Our mailbox is operated via Google Workspace; Google processes the messages on our behalf as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR). Processing outside the EU, in particular in the USA, is possible here as well (see above on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is handling your request. If your request concerns a contract or steps prior to entering into one, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. We delete your request once it has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply; statutory retention periods, for example for business correspondence, remain unaffected.

Your rights

Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). An email to info@banger.deals is sufficient to exercise your rights.

Where we process personal data on the basis of legitimate interests, you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for us is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

You are not obliged to provide your data. Without the technical access data, however, the website cannot be delivered. No automated decision-making takes place.
