Subscribe & Save: worth it?
In short: Often yes – if you need the product regularly anyway. You can cancel any time. But the price of each delivery can change, and sometimes another country or seller is cheaper anyway.
How Subscribe & Save works
You pick a delivery interval, Amazon delivers automatically and takes a discount off the one-time price. Cancel or skip any time in your account.
What to watch
- The price applies per delivery: if Amazon changes it, you pay the new one – there is a reminder before every delivery.
- Amazon only delivers subscriptions within its own country.
- Some coupons apply only to Subscribe & Save, others only to the one-time purchase.
- A quantity discount (“5% off 2”) can be cheaper at the same time.
Example
| One-time purchase on amazon.de with a €5 coupon | €84.99 |
|---|---|
| Italy with coupon, one-time | €77.49 |
| Subscribe & Save on amazon.de with a €5 subscription coupon | €74.90 |
With the subscription coupon, Subscribe & Save even beats Italy here. You can cancel after the first delivery if you only need the product once – but check whether the coupon still applies then.
